Washougal Songcraft Festival is non-profit arts festival, founded in 2023.

Our artistic mission is to foster and celebrate the art of songwriting. You can read more about our artistic criteria on our Artists Page.

Our community vision is to develop the performing arts in Washougal, Washington. We want to see Washougal become known for a lively and creative singer-songwriter scene, with year-round performances and supportive audiences, focused on local and regional artists.

Our festival sponsors performances on Saturday, August 12, 2023, and also some workshops on Sunday, August 13.

Festival Performance Slots

On Saturday Aug. 12 we present Arts Fair performances in the middle of the day, and main stage performances in the late afternoon/evening. There are a total of 10 performance slots for the day, 7 for solo/duo performers and 3 for bands.

Arts Fair performances (solo/duo)

Our festival is partly in conjunction with the annual Washougal Arts Festival which presents an artists fair downtown in Reflection Plaza. We will present four singer-songwriters in low-key outdoor performances in the midst of the fair, from 11 am until 3 pm.

Each Arts Fair performance slot is 45 minutes.

Stage performances (solo, group)

Main Stage performances will be outdoors (tent-sheltered) at 54-40 Brewing, from 5-9 pm.

We will feature three solo performers, performing 30 minute sets.

We will also feature three groups (from 2 to 4 members each), performing 40 minute sets.

Festival Workshop

On Sunday August 13 we will host some workshops focused on songwriting, followed by an all-ages open mic. You can apply to be a facilitator at one of these sessions – you won’t have to run it alone, but will participate in it to help attendees and contribute your experience as a songwriter.

The four sessions we plan to host are:

  • Songwriting for Beginners
  • Lyrics Workshop
  • Booking & Promotion Workshop
  • Songwriting Craft & Culture Discussion

There will be 6 to 12 paid positions available for these workshops, depending on interest and available funding.
